WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) has launched an introduction designed to help inform and assist policymakers and medical professionals on the science, history, and usages of medical cannabis and promote policies that facilitate further research study and fair, legal access. This publication was developed by scientists and physicians working with NCIA's Policy Council.



The objective of this report is to provide doctor and policymakers with an updated, science-based point of view on the medication of cannabis in the United States. It consists of input from medical physicians, scientists, vets, and policy professionals, all committed to the advancement of a cannabis industry based on scientific research study, patient security, and fair access to safe items and scientific oversight. It consists of a history of medical cannabis, an overview of the endocannabinoid system and the complicated nature of the cannabis plant, and explores clinical uses as well as security factors to consider. The paper likewise highlights the challenges that currently impede research study, and consists of policy suggestions to get rid of those barriers and promote evidenced-based therapeutic cannabis access and use.

NCIA means to share this overview to members of Congress and the Biden administration, along with crucial federal firms and medical companies.
